The experiment!

I had to plant the seeds 3 days before first to let them grow into seedlings for a fairer result.

Materials Needed


 This are the materials needed for the experiment.
1 ml of water per pot

4 flower pots with draining systems

50g of soil per pot


Vernier Data Logger

  • 4 liquids with pH levels of 0.5, 2.5, 4.5 & 7.
  • 5 green beans per pot
  • 1 Vernier pH probe

Trial experiment + materials + results

For the trial experiment, I place the green beans in cups rather than pots. The trial experiment did not go well as I poured too much water into the cups and thus the seeds 'drown' as a result. Here are the materials needed:

4 cups with soil

1 ml of water


  • 5 seeds per cup
